The Vasai-Virar region occupies the north-west corner of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Identified as one of the 8 satellite cities by the Government of India, a whopping USD 56.3 million has been sanctioned under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme in Satellite Towns for its multi-pronged development in the years to come.

The Government of Maharashtra has plans to connect the entire MMR by a 337-kilometer Ring Road Project, covering many large infrastructure initiatives like Bandra-Sewri Elevated Road, Mumbai-Trans Harbour Link, Coastal Road, Alibaug-Virar Multimodal Corridor and the Bhayandar-Vasai Bridge. It has announced it will build the 43-km extension to the Versova-Bandra Sea Link till Virar, cutting down the commute time from Mumbai to Vasai significantly. This will augur well logistically and enable businesses in and around Vasai to prosper further. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will review the Versova-Virar project that is estimated to cost around ₹ 32,000 crores. The project will offer faster connectivity to Vasai-Virar regions and areas up to Dahanu.

The Ministry of Urban Development has taken Vasai-Virar under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Satellite towns, making it the only city from Maharashtra. The proximity of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor alignment will further benefit Vasai in terms of industrial activities. The proposal to extend the Mumbai Metro Line 9 from Dahisar-Mira-Bhayandar to Virar is also under assessment. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train is likely to have a stoppage at Virar. A proposal to increase the existing rail lines with additional 8 stations for improved connectivity with Panvel via Diva is also underway.

Since its inception in 2012, the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) has been very instrumental in its rapid development. All internal roads are being converted into four-lane roads namely – Virar to Arnala, Nalasopara to Kalam and Vasai Highway to Vasai Fort. This would ensure smoother transport for the residents of Vasai.

Courtesy of its growth prospects and ever-growing periphery, Vasai is poised to be home to both affordable and luxurious housing projects. Moreover, with various infrastructure projects enhancing its connectivity will boost its real estate prospects remarkably.

Vasai geared for robust infrastructural development Since the 1980s, Vasai has been known for being […]

[1

post-103","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-residential
["GET
